Today I took on one of me greatest fears, riding my bike up to Oak Glen!!
It’s over 3,400 elevation raise!!
I woke up at 5:30am (sleeping in time now days) and had some coffee and PB+Toast, before I embarked on the adventure!!
I always thought people were crazy for doing this ride because it’s all up hill, but when I need to get in 3 1/2 hour bike ride and my friends were going to be doing it, I thought what the heck!
I never knew I could push myself so hard!!! The climb was so intense. I kept telling myself “push, pull, push, pull” trying to stay focused was really hard. I am pretty sure this was the most I have war sweated on a bike ride EVER!
I was so happy to see the Oak Glen sign and turn around and FLY down hill, which was actually kind of scary!!!
I ate my whole pack of shot blocks, half a cliff bar, two bottles of water and a bottle of Gatorade during the ride!! I was so hungry when I finished but not famished!
Oh and check out my new Zoot Tri-Outfit! I got it this week at REI for sale! I wanted to try it out on this ride to see if it will work and loved it!
The top has a great shelf top sports bra and two pockets on the side for easy access. The shorts are lightly padded with two pockets on the sides too!! I was afraid the shirt might ride up, but it didn’t move at all! I am going to wear it tomorrow on my long run and see how it feels ๐
After our 3.5 hour (42) mile bike ride I rushed off to work where I ate 2 amazing meals, packed with protein!
Lunch
And dinner!
Oh and believe me I had dessert!!!! Root beer float heaven ๐
Working Saturdays aren’t so bad when you get to enjoy friends and this view!!
Time to snuggle up with these two. How cute is this!!??
