Good evening friends 🙂
So the 2nd Annual Foodbuzz Blogger Festival is coming up very soon and I can not wait to attend. The wonderful people at Foodbuzz have partnered up with Nature’s Pride to search for six Nature’s Pride bread Ambassadors 🙂
OH MY OH MY am I up for the challenge. I knew exactly what I wanted to make to enter! It may not be the “healthiest†dish on the block, but it is for sure a winner!
I chose to go with their country potato bread.
Cran-Apple and Swiss Sandwich
Ingredients:
- 2 slices of Nature’s Pride Country Potato Bread
- 1 Egg
- 1/4 c of skim milk
- 1 tbsp of butter (I used Earthbalance)
- 2 slices of Swiss Cheese
- 1/4 c Whole Cranberry Sauce
- 1/2 Gala Apple Sliced
Directions:
Heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat. While it is warming up, whip together milk and egg in a shallow dish. Coat both sides of all the bread with a little of the butter. Dip one side of the bread into the mixture.
Place the side with the egg mixture down into the skillet. Dip the other piece of bread in the rest of the egg mixture as well. Now it’s time to layer the sandwich with all the goodies. First lay down the sliced apples.
Then top the apples with both slices of cheese. Heaven right?
Then take the cranberry sauce and lay it all over the cheese.
Then top the sandwich off with the other slice of bread with the wet part facing up.
Grill on each side for about three minutes or less, just like you would a grilled cheese sandwich. Then slice in half and ENJOY!
The way that the cheese melts into the apples made my taste buds go CRAZY!
Such a fun sandwich to serve to any guest!
So tell me what you think, a winner right 😉
