Saturday morning Kath, Melissa, and I headed out to the city for a lovely 5 mile run!! We tried to get a larger group to come with us, but there weren’t many takers. Needless to say we still had a beautiful run a long the pier and after Melissa and I did some weights and ABS in the hotel gym.
Love!
The morning sessions were educational sessions for food bloggers, and we got to register ahead of time to choose the classes we wanted to attend. A few of us decided to hit the Farmers Market + Ferry Building instead.
I love their Farmers Market… wish I could go every weekend!
By the time we got in we were starved and were on the HUNT for brunch!!! We found the best looking Spanish stand and I decided to try the Chilaquiles Guanajuato.
Love food bloggers!
Now this is what I call BRUNCH!! I must must recreate!
The roomies 🙂
After we stuffed our faces we wondered around a bit.
Hubby has some competition!
Vegan donuts!
Then it was on the TASTING PAVILLION, where various sponsors of the Foodbuzz Festival were offering samples of their products. Many of the companies were local companies specializing in artisan foods. A lot of the companies, especially the smaller ones, were using this event to boost their business as well, getting business cards from bloggers to include them in a mailing list about their products or send them free products to review and blog about.
So many fun things to try, but hanging with the girls was my favorite part of the afternoon.
After the Pavilion we rested a bit and then got all dolled up for the Gala dinner!
We started out the dinner with some of Alexia’s fries and wine 😉
Alexia sponsored the event… classy right 😉
There is a contest between 3 different bloggers that Alexia is hosting for a new fry flavor!
I also finally got to meet Beth for http://bethsjourney.com/ . Love her!
Inside the dining hall we got a live demo from Tyler Florence!
The appetizers were served family style– from butternut squash risotto cakes to veggie empanadas!
Hey Tyler!
The salad course with candied nuts and bleu cheese.
The entree- Filet Minion with creamy mashed potatoes, shrimp, asparagus, and vegetables. Hubby was drooling when I sent him a photo 🙂
The final dessert bites- A Scarffen Berger chocolate mousse, Sourdough Bread Pudding, and Cowgirl Creamery cheesecake!
After dessert we hung out chatting it up with new friends, I was so happy to meet Ali from http://thehealthyhostess.com/!!! She was just as sweet as ever!
Along with a lot of other bloggers!!!
Such a fun day, and still one more to come!!!!
