I found out some pretty yucky news last week, the BOSTON marathon is SOLD out. It was sold out in less then 8 hours, fastest time EVER! I didn’t think it would sale out so fast so I thought I could wait at least a day. When I found out the news I was completely taken back. I worked my butt off this summer to Boston Qualify, which even for it being the second time it wasn’t an easy task!!
Instead of being completely bummed I decided to get SLOW down and enjoy “no training†mode. I have been training for a marathon for the past 5 years of my life and I am ready to take it easy, which is a big step for me. Don’t get me wrong I love running and all the fun that comes with races, but its time for a break a REAL break.
My new goal is to just get moving. What does that mean? To enjoy taking my dog for walks in the morning and not having to stress about mileage or a speed workout. To have fun on Friday nights with friends instead of having to worry about getting up at 5am for a long run (even though I might still do these for fun). To go on long bike rides just because.
I am looking forward to more yoga, weight training, cycling, kickboxing, and just getting out no matter what that might look like!!!
So, you win some you lose some. But you always have the choice to make the best out of every situation!
