Hubby and I love having friends over for dinner, as if you all didn’t already know that ๐
I think my favorite dinner party number is 6. I like big parties too, but 6 is my favorite.
This week we hosted a "Picnic" themed dinner and had our friends and neighbors over. We bought some lemonades from Fresh and Easy, and brought out the checkered table cloth.
On the menu was corn on the cob …
wild rice..
and…
Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken
Easiest Chicken you will ever make :)
First you will need to make the homemade (REAL FOOD) BBQ Sauce:
1 cup Ketchup
1/2 cup Vinegar
1/3 cup Honey
1/8 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Chili Powder
1/2 tsp Onion Powder
Then on to the chicken…
Ingredients:
Homemade BBQ Sauce
6 chicken breast halves
1/2 whole wheat all purpose flour
1 sliced onion
1/2 cup water
Directions:
Place onion in slow cooker and top with chicken. Pour BBQ sauce over chicken. Cover and cook for 1 hour on high and then reduce heat to low and cook for 4 hours or until chicken is tender. Remove chicken with a slotted spoon from Crockpot and set chicken aside, keep warm. Increase heat to high.
Lightly place flour in a small bowl and add water and whisk until smooth. Stir flour mixture into Crockpot liquid uncovered for ten minutes. Then serve sauce over chicken.
Our neighbors brought the salad with all the fixings ๐

We had such a great time chatting it up!
Question: Are you a dinner party kind of person?
